This November is packed with entertainment that will warm the soul as the winter approaches. Centenary Stage will present a magician, a group of storytellers and comedians, and a collection of children's books brought to life with song and dance.

This is a strong start to the Keegan Theatre's season. It's nice to see the company return to its Irish roots once again. Thanks to the strong cast and inspired direction, it's a pleasant way to spend a few hours.

This year, the 1st Irish Festival, produced by Origin Theatre Company, broadens its scope by presenting more events that explore the impact and interplay of other media on and in the theatre.

Keegan Theatre's current production of August: Osage County, playing to sold-out houses and critical acclaim, has been extended through September 8, 2012.

The performace is Friday March 9th at 8:00pm at SOPAC, 1 SOPAC Way, South Orange, NJ. Tickets are $35.

South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) announces its theatre line-up for spring 2012. The line-up includes a Cabaret from Tony nominee Tom Wopat as well as an onstage reunion of RENT original cast members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp.

Irish and Broadway stars came out Saturday night for Bill Whelan's first in a series of 4 concerts at the Irish Arts Center. Among the attendees: five-time Tony Award-winner Angela Lansbury, Emmy Award winner and two-time Tony Award nominee Andre De Shields, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, award-winning author Colum McCann, Consul General of Ireland Noel Kilkenny, Malachy McCourt,Chief Executive Eugene Downes of Culture Ireland, Aidan Connelly Executive Director Irish Arts Center, Pauline Turley, Vice Chair Irish Arts Center and many more. Whelan conducted the nine-piece orchestra, played the piano, told stories and sang along with special guests world-renowned fiddler ATHENA TERGIS, Irish singer MORGAN CROWLEY and Irish Dancer and former RIVERDANCE star MICK DONEGAN.

Oct. 17, 2011 at the Manhattan Club, upstairs at Rosie O'Grady's (800 7th Avenue and 52nd St., NYC), starting at 6 p.m.

The Irish Repertory Theatre has been named the 2011 recipient of the Eugene O'Neill Lifetime Achievement Award, given annually by the Irish American Writers & Artists, Inc. (IAW&A).

Pulitzer Prize winning author and journalist William Kennedy was the guest of honor at a special toast at popular Theater District eatery, Trattoria Dopo Teatro. Longtime friend and noted film and theater producer Barbara Ligeti along with Trattoria Dopo Teatro owners architect Emilio Barletta & Giuseppe Manica hosted the reception to salute the author on the release of his eagerly anticipated new novel, 'Chango's Beads and Two Toned Shoes'.
