PREPARATION

Please prepare two contrasting monologues, and, if auditioning for the musical, 32-bars of a standard, music theatre, or jazz-like piece. An accompanist will be available. Please provide two headshots and two resumes at the audition.

THE PILLOWMAN

SYNOPSIS: The Pillowman is a horror story set in an authoritarian world inside a police interrogation room full of power dynamics, abuse, and rich storytelling. After a series of gruesome child murders, a writer is being held and questioned in connection to them.

SEEKING:

Tupolski: CAST. A middle-aged, male identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity who interrogates a writer over brutal crimes through a series of verbal tactics. Has a great command of language, comedy and possess an elegance.

Katurian: CAST. A male identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity who is a writer being held and interrogated for a string of brutal crimes. Has a strong command of language, vulnerability and depth.

Ariel: CAST. An under-forty, male identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity who has a physically strong presence and uses this physical strength as a tactic in police interrogations that could tread on abuse. Has a strong command of language and emotional depth.

Michael: A male identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity who is the brother of Katurian. Michael is vulnerable, naive and looks at the world through a very special lense. Has a deep sense of his physical self, emotional depth and youthful joy.

SYNOPSIS: The US President has turned the world upside down after he said a particular 4-letter word at a press conference. It is now up to the women of the White House to fix everything.

SEEKING:

Harriet: Any race and/or ethnicity female identifying person upwards of fifty. She is his chief of staff and is no nonsense, very, very good at her job and about to reach a pivotal moment in her career. Has a strong ability for language and physical comedy.

Jean: Any race and/or ethnicity female identifying person upwards of forty. She is his press secretary. Very good at her job but also very nimble because of the daily mess that is made. Very good at relationships and spin. Has a very strong sense of physical comedy and language.

Stephanie: Any race and/or ethnicity female identifying person upwards of forty. She is his secretary. A meekish woman who discovers her power in the course of the play. Stephanie is the most physical comedic track and that will be expressed through choreographed bits and eccentric behaviors.

Dusty: Any race and/or ethnicity female identifying person between twenty-five and thirty. His dalliance. Remarkably simple and naive but will take one for the team. Has strong physical comedy skills and a strong sense of sexuality and zaniness.

Bernadette: White female identifying person upwards of thirty-five. She is his sister and is a butch lesbian who has a very troubled past, present and possibly future. Has a strong command of language and comic timing.

Chris: Black female identifying person in their thirties. She is a journalist and a mother - recently back to work. She is a walking balancing act and very good at her job. Has a strong sense of physical comedy.

Margaret: CAST. Black female identifying person upwards of fifty. His wife, the first lady. Political, sophisticated, dynamic and in charge. Possesses a strong command of language and emotional depth.

SYNOPSIS: A reimagined multi-cultural ten-person storyteller version of this celebrated American classic about Tevye, a milkman living in Anatevka, a shtetl in Russia. Tevye and his family are living in a changing world that ultimately challenges traditions and his identity.

SEEKING:

Tevye: CAST. A male identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity upwards of forty-five years old. A poor milkman with five daughters. Baritone: Low A flat High F

Golde: CAST. A female identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity upwards of forty-five years old. Tevye's wife and a mother of five daughters. Great comic skills. Great singer.

Tzeitel: A female identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity. Tevye's eldest daughter is in love with Motel. Has good comic sensibilities. Mezzo-Soprano: Low B-D sharp.

Motel: A male identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity. A tailor in love with Tzeitel. Nimble, expressive, nervous, joyful. Becomes an adult in front of our eyes. Tenor: E-High F Sharp.

Hodel: A female identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity. Tevye's second eldest daughter. She is a rebellious spirit, very loyal and sacrifices a lot for her love of Perchik. Soprano- Mezzo-Soprano Low B-E.

Perchik: A male identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity. In love with Hodel. Politically charged, educated and surprisingly romantic. Baritone: B- E Flat.

Chava: A female identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity. Tevye's middle daughter. Introverted, shy, intelligent. She's in love with Fyedka. Has a strong foundation in ballet. Soprano, Mezzo Soprano: Low B- C.

Fyedka: A white male identifying person under twenty-five. Smart, passionate and has his eye on the future, A strong dancer and a strong tenor.

Lazar Wolf: A male identifying person upwards of fifty-five- any race and/or ethnicity. He has his eye on Tzeitel. Old friend of Tevye's. Comedic. Baritone: Up to and E Flat.

Male Ensemble: A Male identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity. In this production, this track will play many, many roles and be instrumental in the storytelling. Must be an extraordinary dancer and singer.

Female Ensemble: A Female identifying person of any race and/or ethnicity. In this production, this track will play many, many roles and be instrumental in the storytelling. Must be an extraordinary dancer.

SYNOPSIS: Members of the self-proclaimed Multi-Ethnic Reject Group meet before attending their twentieth high school reunion. With the help of marijuana and alcohol, the truth comes out and realities are thrusted upon these relationships.

SEEKING:

Ursula: A female identifying person who is BIPOC, any body type & 38-ish. Her life is in transition and she seems to suffer from depression and isolation. A terrific sense of emotional depth and command of language is important.

Emilio: A male identifying person who is BIPOC, 38-ish. On the surface, his life seems to be fantastic, however... Has charisma and command of language.

Caitlin: A white female identifying person, 38-ish. She has much more opportunity due to her privilege in skin color and attractiveness. Strong comedic skills.

Francisco: A Latino/Hispanic male identifying person, 38-ish. Physically strong, privileged with his looks but has a strong clown side to him.

Kristina: A female identifying person of any race and ethnicity, 38-ish. Has a great sense of language and emotional depth.
