What an interesting concept? It does have a dash of Rocky Horror, I think. I'd go see it. Max is uber talented! from RC in Austin,Texas Gay Bride of Frankenstein
It sounds intriguing and interesting. Plus hearing Max let loose with a rock score. I mean, yes, he's does JCS...but I've not heard him sing that stuff...
He doesn't strike me as a rock singer? In Evita (and even bootleg of Baker's Wife at Papermill) he was sounding like he was having a difficult time with the upper notes. Hm.
He says he's a baritone with "a couple of high notes"...and he does have a richness to his voice...but I would think of him as more of a dramatic tenor. Considering the roles he's played, I don't fancy him a baritone...maybe a lyric baritone, but of course musical theatre mishmashes everything together.
Regardless, when he sings....he wins. End of story :)
Yo. I'm not saying he can't hit the notes. I'm saying, it sounded like he was straining to hit the notes. I think it's more about the delivery. He takes these big breaths and gasps and then hits the notes as if it's such hard work to do so.
Honestly I'd rather not seen him sing Che. His vibrato is a lot.
