Theatre Harrisburg Presents THE MUSIC MAN, 11/2-18

Theatre Harrisburg presents live, on stage at Whitaker Center, the classic all-American musical THE MUSIC MAN. Opening Friday, November 2, other performances are scheduled for November 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17 & 18. Show times are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3 & 17 at 4:00 p.m. and November 10 at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. This production is sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield.

Theatre Harrisburg takes its slogan “Where Community Takes Center Stage!” very seriously and recognizes that current economic conditions make it difficult for many of their friends and neighbors in Central Pennsylvania to enjoy live theatre. That’s why ticket prices for THE MUSIC MAN have been kept very low. In fact, every seat in the house for all three opening weekend performances (November 2 – 4) is only $15. Beyond that, tickets are still a very reasonable $20 & $25. Tickets may be purchased by visiting or calling the Whitaker Center box office at (717) 214-ARTS.

MerEdith Wilson’s THE MUSIC MAN is one of the most popular and beloved musicals in Broadway history. There’s trouble in River City, but fast-talking Professor Harold Hill has just the solution – a boys’ band. Will Marian, the town librarian, expose his scheme or will he transform the entire town? With quirky, unforgettable characters and a memorable score featuring such favorites as 76 Trombones, Till There Was You, Goodnight, My Someone, Lida Rose and Gary, Indiana, this all-American classic will have audiences marching in the aisles. The perfect holiday treat for family members of all ages.

Theatre Harrisburg’s production of THE MUSIC MAN features a cast of 45 performers and stars Stosh Snyder as Professor Harold Hill, Kat Prickett as Marian Paroo, Kevin Biddle as Mayor Shinn, Patty Cole as Eulalie Shinn, Michael Popovsky as Marcellus Washburn, Nancy Kraft as Mrs. Paroo, Peter Ariano as Winthrop Paroo, Ira Rappaport as Charlie Cowell, Preston Schreffler as Tommy Djilas, Olivia Plessl as Zaneeta Shinn, and Gabi Hemsch as Amaryllis.

Members of the River City school board are Joseph Gargiulo, Phil Gellis, Moses Mariscal and Darren Riddle, and members of the ladies committee are Rebecca Bremer, Wendy Faust, Jackie Goodwin and Caitie Link.

Other members of the ensemble include Ann Ariano, Anthony Ariano, Nicoletta Ariano, Diane Bateman, Shula Bronner, Skylar Dobson, Micaela Eckert, Christopher Fisher, Deb Gargiulo, Joseph Gratz, Taylor Guarente, Jessica Jacobs, Bethany King, Doug Macut, Danielle Miller, Doug Miller, Jill Miller, Scott Miller, Jessica Mowery, Kaitlyn Perbetsky, Renee Ruiz, Jocelyn Szejk, Kodiak Thompson, Elizabeth Vinarski, Reagan Werner and E’amonn Wrightstone.

The entire production is under the direction of Eric Dundore with music direction by James Hoffman and choreography by Allison Graham.
