State Theatre Presents 17th Annual Elvis Birthday Bash, 2/1

Celebrate the State Theatre's 17th rockin' Elvis Birthday Bash with the Ultimate Tribute Show! The Elvis Birthday Bash pays homage to the King of Rock 'N Roll with Scot Bruce as the young heartbreaker and Mike Albert as the seasoned "Vegas-style" Elvis. Backed by the fantastic Big "E" Band, they'll leave you screaming for more.

Mike and Scot have been playing the two "Elvis'" every year since the Bash debuted at State Theatre in 1997.

Show time is Friday, February 1 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $41 & $36 and can be purchased by visiting the State Theatre Box Office, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610-252-3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org.

Mike Albert:

Mike Albert's "Ultimate Tribute" show has become known worldwide for the respectful portrayal of the late Elvis Presley. The show had its beginnings with Mike using sing-a-long tapes of Elvis' hits. Mike won several major world "Elvis" contests, and demand for his shows resulted in putting together a seven piece Big "E" Band, to emulate the sound Elvis' band had in the Vegas shows and on tour. An appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show and being featured in six music videos on the national show "A Current Affair", with Maury Povich, further exposed audiences to Mike's talent.

The actual vocal groups that backed Elvis (the legendary Jordanaires and J.D. Sumner and the Stamps quartet) have toured across the U.S., Europe and as far as Australia and New Zealand with Mike's show at many large conventions and theaters. Mike's style and charisma and his ability to get the audience involved in the show have proved to be quite the crowd pleaser. Fairs, festivals, dinner shows and large car cruises have established a long-term relationship with Mike and his band that draws sold-out crowds year after year. Highlighting Mike's career was an invitation to do the Miss Tennessee beauty pageant, with a full orchestra and choreographed dance routines, and a repeat invitation three years later.

Mike's powerful voice lends itself well to every type of Elvis' music - 50's, 60's and 70's rock and roll and love songs, as well as a very successful gospel/Christmas show. Since Elvis had so many hits, Mike makes it a point to keep the show fresh with an ever-changing song line-up! Special requests are often delivered to audiences who are "All Shook Up"!

Scot Bruce

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, where he was a radio personality and a drummer, Scot has lived in Los Angeles since 1990. While pursuing music and acting as a career (and having been a musician and big Elvis fan all of his life), he started doing a 1950's era Elvis show as a way to survive the lean times. The result was a surprise to Scot... what was meant as a part-time "gig" to supplement his income, blossomed into a full time career! Because of his uncanny resemblance to the young "King" (and his ability to sing, strum a guitar, and swivel his hips), his live show has taken him across the U.S. and all over the world. As Elvis, he has appeared in music videos with Faith Hill and Sheryl Crow, and has been heard as the "Resident Elvis" with his pals Mark and Brian" on their highly rated Los Angeles morning radio show. Scot has also appeared in recurring roles on the hit soap operas Days of Our Lives andThe Bold and the Beautiful, a Pizza Hut commercial, the California Lottery "Elvis" ad campaign, and in several successful productions ofIdols of the King, including the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the Barter Theatre in Virginia and the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery. Recently, he had the honor of performing with the legendary Jordanaires (Elvis' original backup singers). If you saw the True Hollywood Story: Elvis in Hollywood on E! Entertainment Network, that was Scot playing Elvis in the recreation scenes. He performs at Disneyland on a regular basis, and tours with the 'Legends of Rock & Roll - Buddy, Roy & Elvis.'
